# 1. Prepare for installation

Confirm the equipment, people, and site information before the installation visit.

## Before you start

Arrange the installation window with the site lead. Obtain your site’s LiveReach configuration instructions and deployment contact before the visit, including how the cameras will be added to the NVR and assigned to SafeTunnel. Agree who will configure the system and witness the final tests.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Secure the work area before mounting or wiring.** Authorized personnel must follow the site’s equipment isolation and lockout/tagout procedures. A software stop or stop button is not energy isolation. Observe operating equipment only from a safe location outside the operating tunnel. See [OSHA’s hazardous-energy guidance](https://www.osha.gov/control-hazardous-energy/) for general background.
{% endhint %}

## Check the equipment

| Component | Check before the visit |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| LiveReach NVR Appliance | Appliance, matching power supply, and both Ethernet ports identified. |
| LiveReach SafeTunnel Appliance | Appliance and matching power supply. Check the Ethernet port count for your [network layout](/installation-guide/network.md): setup 3 needs two; setup 2 needs a second port when the relay is fitted. |
| Cameras | Enough cameras for the planned coverage; every camera meets the requirements below. |
| Relay controller — optional | ADAM-6060 or Moxa ioLogik E1214, if included in the site plan. |
| Network and power | Suitable switches, Ethernet cables, camera power, and appliance power connections. If using PoE cameras, confirm compatible PoE power and switch capacity for the connected cameras. |
| Mounting and protection | Wall brackets, fixings, junction boxes, protected cable routes, and tools suitable for the installed hardware and wash environment. |

Confirm quantities and included accessories against your order. Follow each device’s installation instructions for power, environmental limits, ventilation, mounting, and cable protection. Locate appliances and unprotected networking equipment in a suitable dry, accessible location.

## Camera requirements

| Requirement                         | Acceptance check                                                                               |
| ----------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **1080p or higher** | The stream used by the system is at least 1920 × 1080. |
| **15 frames per second minimum** | The delivered stream meets 15 fps or higher; verify it after connection. |
| **No fisheye or barrel distortion** | The vehicle and rail retain their shape; a bowed image is not an acceptable installation view. |

For existing cameras, have LiveReach confirm that the camera and stream can be connected to the NVR. A resolution setting alone does not establish compatibility or coverage.

## Prepare the site record

Use the [installation worksheet](https://3748104918-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fcfh08s1E8Fn9MOdqduSf%2Fuploads%2FERwcsHzx0cLE0p89nrVV%2Finstallation-worksheet.pdf?alt=media) to record:

* A tunnel sketch: entrance, exit, rail, arches, brushes, posts, windows, lights, and proposed camera positions.
* Camera IDs and the zone each will cover. Check both the vehicle side profile and the gap between following vehicles.
* The selected network layout, cable destinations, physical sockets used, device addresses, and the person responsible for address and routing configuration.
* The LiveReach deployment contact and the agreed configuration and functional-test procedure.
* Whether a relay is included. If it is, obtain the approved controls drawing and identify the controls installer.

Keep credentials in the site’s approved secure system, not in this worksheet.

## Check before continuing

* [ ] Required hardware, power, cables, and mounts are available.
* [ ] Cameras meet the resolution, frame-rate, and lens requirements.
* [ ] Site access and equipment isolation are arranged.
* [ ] Network and LiveReach configuration owners are identified.
* [ ] The site sketch and commissioning procedure are available.
